Sponge Bob Goes Luau!
Add a little tropical to your party when Sponge Bob and the gang go LUAU! Invite kids wear their favorite colorful shirts and greet them with a lei. Below you will find decorating ideas for your room and table, activity and game ideas and party food suggestions.
Decorating Ideas:
Room Decorations
Balloons and streamers...the basic decorating stand-bys...are always an inexpensive and easy way to turn any room into a festive birthday party. Attach streamers from center of ceiling to each corner of the room. Use two colors and twist streamers for effect. Or...attach short streamers to doorways or down walls. Use plenty of colorful balloons for a Sponge Bob Luau birthday party. Tie in bunches of 3 around room and/or attach one balloon to the back of each chair at the table. Use extra balloons on the "birthday" chair. Give each child a balloon to take home after the party.
A Sponge Bob Luau party is a great summertime party for kids! Hold it outside on your deck or lawn. Decorate simply with some Luau lights, inflatable ukelele and balloons. Have a Luau Music CD playing and child size hula skirts available for the Hula Contest (see below). Luau theme room scene setters make great backgrounds if you are planning your party for inside.
Table Decorations
The easiest way to bring out any party theme is with the paper products for your table.
Decorate your table with Sponge Bob Luau tablecover, plates, napkins and cups. Add plates or napkins in solid colors if desired. Serve Tropical Punch in coconut cups. Use the birthday cake as a centerpiece or a large bunch of balloons. A fun idea is to fill a new fish bowl with Goldfish(tm) crackers. Have a Sponge Bob loot bag or plastic beach pail filled with favors for each child. Dine at the Krunchy Burger!
Krabby Patties of course! This would be a great time for a cook out! If that's not an option, and you are serving small children try this:
Serve finger foods that are easy and fun for children and keep it simple. A fun idea that children love is peanut butter and jelly on party rolls (pretend krabby patty). Have a few typical Luau style foods such as a fruit platter and (of course) some tropical punch in coconut cups! Add some small snacks like Goldfish(tm) crackers, potato chips or mini chocolate chip cookies. Serve party food on Sponge Bob Luau paper products for easy clean up. Or, use the new Kids Fun Plates and have each guest take the plate home as a favor.
Fun Ideas: 1. Use new plastic beach pails for serving bowls!
2. Fill a new fish bowl with Goldfish(tm) crackers!
The Birthday Cake!
Make your own Sponge Bob theme cake using a
Sponge Bob Cake Pan (if you have the time and talent)...or use a Sponge Bob Cake Kit or Cupcake Picks. Last resort...order a theme cake from your local bakery or grocery store. BE SURE TO ORDER EARLY!
